CSG Actuarial compiled information from the NAIC* and other sources and reported in April that total Medicare Supplement lives covered in 2023 decreased slightly to 14.1 million and seven of the top ten Medicare Supplement carriers reported a decrease in in-force Medicare Supplement lives in 2023, as shown below.
While overall Medicare Supplement covered lives decreased in 2023, the market has experienced significant growth over the past two decades. Here are the historical Medicare Supplement in-force lives for the top 10 carriers for each year 2006 to 2023.
